Annual Events
The
following is a general list of annual Chamber events and an indication
of the month in which they occur. It does not include Business Before
and After Hours, which are free networking events or "Brown
Bag" Seminars, which are free lunch-time presentations, both
of which take place twice each month. For specific times and events,
consult the Chamber's Calendar
of Events.
January
Health Fair
Networking Luncheon. Planned to help members make good on
New Year's resolutions, the health, wellness, fitness and motivation
industries are invited to exhibit their goods and services and speakers
address one or more of these topics.
Legislative Kick-off Breakfast. Delegates to the state general assembly outline their legislative platforms for the year and the Chamber presents its legislative priorities.
February
Community Showcase
Luncheon. The Chamber's nonprofit organizations are invited
to showcase their programs and services. The Chamber presents the
annual Shelly Krasnow Community Service Award.
March
Member Appreciation
Month. Members can attend a special "Pat on the Back"
reception on St. Patrick's Day as well as participate in other activities and programs throughout the month specifically designed to say "Thank you" to our members.
Polar
Bear Scramble. The Chamber's annual golf outing raises money
for the scholarship program.
March Speed Networking Luncheon . The entire event is devoted to networking and features icebreakers, interactive activities and promotional door prizes.
Legislative Wrap-up Breakfast. Delegates to the state general assembly discuss bills passed during the legislative session.
April
M.A.P.S. Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations Strategies. Experts in the fields of marketing, advertising and public relations share useful information and tips with members. Attendees also receive an up-dated media contact booklet.
Education Honor
Roll Breakfast. The school superintendents from the three
local jurisdictions are invited to address the membership concerning
the state of their school systems. The Chamber's scholarship recipients
are honored along with local winners of the Agnes Meyer Outstanding
Teacher award.
May
"Excellence
in Business" Awards Luncheon. The Chamber honors the
many contributions of its member businesses and organizations by
presenting the "Excellence in Business" Awards.
June
Annual Dinner
Dance. The Chamber's formal gala celebrates the beginning
of a new Chamber year with the installation of officers and board
members. This event features a delicious dinner, live music and
a festive theme.
Virtual Bus Tour. Members take a "virtual bus tour" of areas of development within the county as a forecast of economic development for the coming year.
July
July Networking Breakfast. The entire event is devoted to networking and features icebreakers, interactive activities and promotional door prizes.
August
Not-For-Profit
Summit. Experts are invited to participate in a panel discussion
on various topics of interest to the Chamber's nonprofit organizations.
September
Arts Alive! Arts Alive! is an evening event that kicks off the season for member arts and entertainment organizations with a formal reception, dinner, lively arts performances and awards presentations. Member organizations are invited to exhibit.
October
Connections
ETC. Prince William County's largest tradeshow is held annually
at Freedom Aquatic and Fitness Center. This premiere event which
showcases the area's businesses, draws hundreds of consumers every
year, making it the place to do business.
November
Cuisine de
Commerce. This event showcases the cuisine of member restaurants,
hotels, caterers and gourmet and specialty shops and kicks off the
holiday season with a holiday toy drive for local charities. A portion
of the proceeds funds the annual Shelley Krasnow Community Service
Award.
December
Silent Auction Luncheon. Members get a jump on their holiday shopping and have fun bidding on goods and services at the annual silent auction. A different holiday theme each year only adds to the excitement.
Holiday Open House. The Chamber treats members to their very own holiday party.
